Do I need a certificate for a towbar?
Yes. After installing the towbar, it is necessary to make certificate at the vehicle inspection station in order to register the hook in the vehicle registration certificate.

How long does it take to install a towbar?

Can I drive a bike carrier with a towbar?
Yes. A towbar is often used for bicycle racks, and many carrier models are mounted directly on the tow ball.
Does the towbar affect the parking sensors?
In some vehicles, the parking sensors may register the towbar as an obstacle.
For vehicles with original installation the vehicle system automatically recognizes the trailer or carrier, so the sensors and other systems adapt to the driving.
Can a car be driven with a towbar installed when it is not in use?
The towbar must not be on a vehicle in traffic if there is no trailer!
Article 90 of the Road Traffic Safety Act, paragraph 3, stipulates that a motor vehicle equipped with an articulated detachable towing device for towing a trailer (EURO hitch), when not towing a trailer, may not participate in traffic with the towing device installed.
Therefore, such a towbar must be removed from the motor vehicle whenever it is not towing a trailer. The reason given is additional traffic safety, as there is a possibility that the towbar could get stuck in another vehicle in a traffic accident during a collision, which would ultimately result in greater material damage than if the towbar had not been installed on the motor vehicle.
